What is ETU Hyperlink?
ETU Hyperlink is a personal hyperlink tracker. It turns any link you send into a tracked link, so the moment someone clicks it, you find out. You get an instant email notification and a dashboard view of the click: when it happened, where it happened, and what device was used. It is simple link tracking for one person who just wants to know whether the link they sent got clicked. Any link, any device, any reason.
Why I built it
I have been writing software for 40 years. I started back when punch cards were on their way out, and I still remember saving one of my first programs onto a tape drive. I have built plenty since then, including the custom Excel solutions and website designs behind Anderson Estimating Service, the estimating and takeoff company I still own and run today.
Every day I send hyperlinks to people, and all I really want to know is whether they clicked. What I needed was a reliable way to confirm exactly that. Without it, I was stuck following up just to ask, "hey, did you get this?", never sure if it reached them or got lost in the void. Just guessing.
So I did what I have always done when there is no software for the problem: I wrote my own. Over 40 years I have built all kinds, from haul road programs to estimating programs to data management programs, and now this simple little one. There is one thread through everything I make: it has to be easy to use. That is literally what ETU stands for, Easy To Use, and I have never broken that rule. I have been running this one in my own business and it works great, with more planned down the road, but at its core it stays a simple solution to a simple question: did they click your link, or not?
